Dakshineswar Kali Temple-Situated on the bank of the Ganges near Bally Bridge. The Temple was build by Rani Rashmani in 1847. the Saint Param Purush Sri Ramkrishna completed his sadhana here. One of the holiest place in the city. Here Swami Vivekananda meets Sri Ramkrishna for spiritual life. Temple open – 7am to12 noon & 3.30 pm to 8pm.

Belur Math- situated at Belur of Howrah District. Head Quarter of Ramkrishna Mission. On the Bank of the Hoogly River (Ganga) the world famous Ramkrishna Temple providing a picturesque view. People from different parts of the country abroad visit these places. Visiting hours- 6.30am to 11.00am & 4pm to 7.30pm

Kalighat Temple- situated at the bank of Adi Ganga. A great attraction Hindu Pilgrims. Kali the goddess of power and Passion are undoubtedly the presiding deity of Kolkata. The toe of goddess Sati is said to have fallen here Opening Time – 6am to2pm & 5pm to 10pm

Nirmal Hriday- located near the Kalighat Temple. Mother Teresa started her mission of mercy at Nirmal Hridoy – the sacred heart where dying destitute are looked after with love and devotion.

Missionaries of Charity – Mother Teresa started this charity on the base of Kolkata. Mother and Sister of charity have spread there mission of mercy to all parts of the world. Here mother died September 03 1997 the Samadhi Khetra has laid down in this house.

Nakhoda Mosque – Situated at Chitpur, a biggest mosque of Muslim community. A splendid specimen of Indo Seramic architecture.

St. Paul’s Cathedral – Situated near Birla Planetarium, Kolkata. The old church was build in 1847.



Howrah Bridge (Rabindra Setu), Writer’s Building, Raj Bhavan, Saheed Minar (Monument), Jorasanko Thakur Bari, Netaji Bhawan, Victoria Memorial.

Howrah Bridge (Rabindra setu) – the bridge across the river Hoogly is a fine specimen of structural work main ship. Bridge is the 4th largest cantilever Bridge in the world. It was completed in the year 1943 replacing the olded platoon Bridge at an enormous cost.

Indian Museum – Situated at the Chowrangee Road (27, J.L. Nehru Road. Kol -17). The largest museum in Asia. The richest collection of geological, archaeological, botanical. And textile and the skeletal remains unearthed from Harappa and Mahenjodara are preserved here. (Monday Closed)

Jorasanko Thakur Bari – Situated at Ganesh talkies of Noth Kolkata. The Thakur Bari where Novel Laureate and great poet Rabindra Nath Tagore was born and brought up. Poet’s father Maharshi Debendranath Tagore and his father prince of Kolkata Dwarkanath Tagore lived in this place. Rabindra Bharati University building has been build with in the compound where study and research of Dance, Drama, Music and fine Arts Light & Sound Show (Monday & Tuesday closed)

Netaji Bhawan – Situated at Elgin Road Netaji’s own Table, Chair, Bed and Dress display on here.Netaji Bhawan in Kolkata, the ancestral house of Subhash Chandra Bose is for Indian of all religious and all classes a place of national pilgrim age. Open daily – 11.00A.M to 4.30PM (Except Monday) A documentary film of Netaji shown on everyday.

Raj Bhawan – Located in BBD Bag. The residence of the Governor of West Bengal. Earlier the House of Viceroy.

Victoria Memorial – Located in red Road and Queen’s Way junction. Built in white marble on line of Taj Mahal in Memory of Queen Victoria. It has a highly interesting collection of Pictures, Status, manuscripts etc. Relating to the Nawabi and British times in Bengal. “A Fountain of Light” Has been created in front of the memorial on the Northern Side.

Botanical Garden, Indian Museum, Birla Planetarium, Science City, Nehru Museum.

Birla Planetarium- Situated on the crossing of theatre Road and Chowringee Road. The dome build of reinforced concrete with a diameter of 75.ft. in the center of the Air-conditioned auditorium is placed a giant projector capable of reproduction the part of the Universe which is visible to the naked eye. It is the biggest Planetarium in Asia.

Botanical Garden – Situated at Shibpur, Howrah and west bank of river Ganga the garden has numerous varieties plants and trees. Spreading over 273 acres. The garden is famous for the great Banyan tree which covers around of 382 meters.

Nehru Children Museum – Situated at Chowringee Road and Camac St. Crossing and attractive library for children and has clay models of Indian classics.

Science City – Located in E.M By Pass (5, JB Halden Ave) center for contemporary Science. A big auditorium with attractive Science activities for all age groups. Space Theatre, Time Machine, illusion park Etc.
